• 要約等: In order to help systematize and develop programs for the establishment of a sustainable high-performance system in National Federations (NFs), this study reviews of the Japan Rowing Association's efforts and discusses the achievements and challenges of the strategic development of national coaches. This study uses the framework of the Athlete Pathway, which is divided into three stages: "Discovery, Validation, and Development. The discovery phase was effective as an opportunity to confirm the intention of the participants. In the validation phase, they were able to think about their ideal coach and determine their own aptitude for the job. In the development phase, the coaches were able to build a relationship in which they could learn from each other through study sessions and practical learning. In the future, it is important to continue to provide opportunities to challenge themselves. In the process of recruiting national coaches, it is necessary to ensure fairness and transparency, and to have a system to properly evaluate coaching skills and competence.
