一般注記Ba2CoTeO6 is a perovskite type compound, in which the magnetic ion Co2+ possesses the effective spin-1/2 at low temperatures. Magnetic properties of Ba2CoTeO6 have been investigated using single crystals. High-field magnetization and specific heat measurements reveal that Ba2CoTeO6 is composed of two subsystems, (A) S=1/2 Heisenberg-like triangular lattice antiferromagnet with TN2=2.9 K and (B) J1-J2 Ising-like honeycomb lattice antiferromagnet with TN1=11.9 K, and that the interaction between these two subsystems are very weak. We also performed electron spin resonance (ESR) measurement for H
c at 1.5 K (< TN2) and observed several ESR modes, which include the collective excitations in subsystem A and the localized excitations in subsystem B. From these measurements, magnetic parameters of Ba2CoTeO6 were determined.
