HIV などヒトに慢性疾患を引き起こすウイルス感染症では、病態の進行がHLA アリルのハプロタイプと相関するが、その要因は明らかになっていない。本研究では、HLA アリル多型性がT細胞の抗ウイルス機能に与える役割と、ウイルス因子が獲得免疫応答に及ぼす影響を解析した。その結果、①HIV に対するCTL 免疫監視システムは、HIV-1 病原性因子であるNef の機能に著しい影響を与えること、②抗原ペプチド・MHC 複合体の安定性が、TCR による抗原認識を通じて、HIV 特異的CTL の抗ウイルス活性に大きく影響すること、の二点を明らかにした。
