本研究の目的は、「責任」と「罪」の概念規定の背景にある宗教・倫理・社会の領域の交錯に光を当て、これら諸領域の再画定の試みの意義と可能性を明らかにすることである。 20世紀には、罪の意識の希薄化や責任主体の不在といった問題意識を背景に「責任」と「罪」の問題が盛んに論じられた。申請者は、これに先立つ研究において、レヴィナス、リクール、アーレントの思想における両概念の連関や差異化の内実を解明する研究に取り組んだ。その際に、思想家のそれぞれが、従来の倫理学、神学、政治学、法学等の一般的な学問領野の区分けとは異なる仕方で複数の領域を結び付けており、ドイツの実存哲学や、ユダヤ思想、キリスト教思想などから影響を受けている事実が浮かび上がってきたことから、新たに設定された本研究課題においては、「宗教」と「倫理」、「社会」の領域を交錯させる現代思想のアプローチによって「責任」と「罪」がどのように関連付けられ、あるいは区別されるのか、について、これまでの研究を継続発展しつつ、より広い視野に立った考察を行っている。一年計画の初年度であり最終年度でもある本年は、⑴リクールとアーレントの議論に対するヤスパースの実存哲学の枠組みの影響を調査し、⑵ドイツユダヤ思想の文脈とレヴィナスの議論の親近性に関する国内外の最新研究を総合し、さらに⑶研究成果を公表して領域横断的なモデルケースが倫理・宗教・社会思想にとってもつ意義やその限界について隣接領野の研究者との意見交換を行う計画であった。しかし新型コロナウィルス感染症の蔓延による業務量の増加と緊急事態宣言下での研究環境の変化のため、課題の実施に大幅な遅延が生じ、国際的な規模での調査・研究交流を要する⑵および⑶については年度内の実施が叶わなかった。先の研究課題成果として公表が計画されていた論文一編についても、予定されていた時期の刊行を断念した。今後は未完了の課題を実施し、研究期間終了後にはなってしまうが、なるべく公益性のある仕方で成果を公表していきたい。 This comparative study of Levinas, Ricoeur, and Arendt attempts to shed light on the connection between the notions of Responsibility and Culpability, considering the implications of the intersection of Ethics, Religious Study, and Social Philosophy in Contemporary Thoughts. During this academic year, we planned to focus on the following tasks: (1) clarify the influence of Jaspers's existential philosophy on Ricoeur and Arendt (2) get a comprehensive view of the latest international research developments concerning Levinas in the context of German Jewish thoughts (3) publish the result of this study and discuss with other researchers the implications of cross-disciplinary approaches to the problem of human responsibility and culpability. However, due to the situation caused by the pandemic of COVID-19, some of the tasks which include international exchanges could not be realized before the end of the period.
