• Note (General): type:text; 本研究の第１の目的は，現在の日本企業における管理会計実態の把握であった。今日では多くの管理会計手法が大企業を中心に利用されてきているが，その利用実態について十分には分かっていない部分も多い。第２の目的は，理論・実務ギャップの把握，解明であった。管理会計の教科書で一般的に説明されるコンベンショナル・ウイズダムについて，実証的裏づけのない情報は意外と多く，実態データによる検証が必要である。第３の目的は，日本的管理会計の原理解明であった。日本企業に特徴的な管理会計実践について，理論やフィールド調査に基づくいくつもの仮説が提示されたままであり，実証的研究が必要である。 上記の問題意識・研究目的のもと，2009 年と2014 年に引き続き，2019年に東証一部上場企業を対象とした郵送質問票調査を実施した。質問票調査データ分析による実証研究ならびにフォローアップのための企業訪問調査を実施し，とりわけ第１回調査からの10 年間の変化動向について観察した。 今年度は、２つの学会報告と、3本の論文公表、現在投稿・査読中の論文が3本という研究成果である。 そのうちの２つの研究成果について簡単に説明しておく。 第１の研究は，日本企業における業績管理が，近10年でどのように変化・変容しているかを明らかにするものである。2009年から2019年の10年間での業績管理の変化は，資本効率やB/Sを意識した管理への変革というよりも伝統的なP/L中心の管理を計数管理の強化という点で強化漸進的に改善するものである可能性や，中長期的な企業価値の向上というよりも短期的な財務業績の向上を目指したものである可能性が示唆された。 第２の研究は，近年の日本の製造業における原価企画の変容について，10年間の変化を分析した結果，①原価企画活動，原価企画の効果・逆機能自体に有意な変化・変容はなく，②原価企画活動と原価企画の効果については概ね一貫した関係性が示されたのに対し，③原価企画活動と逆機能の関係性については，調査年度による差が確認されるとともに，④組織コンテクストと原価企画活動および効果との関係性についても有意なパスの差が確認された。 The first objective of this study was to understand the current status of management accounting in Japanese companies. Today, many management accounting methods have been used mainly by large companies, but the actual status of their use is not fully understood in many areas. There is a surprisingly large amount of information about conventional wisdom, which is commonly explained in management accounting textbooks, without empirical support. The third objective was to clarify the principles of Japanese management accounting. A number of hypotheses based on theories and field studies were developed about the management accounting practices characteristic of Japanese firms. Several hypotheses based on theories and field surveys have not been presented yet regarding the management accounting practices characteristic of Japanese companies, and empirical research is needed. Based on the above problem awareness and research objectives, we conducted a mail questionnaire survey of companies listed on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 2019, following the surveys conducted in 2009 and 2014. We conducted an empirical study by analyzing the questionnaire survey data as well as a follow-up company visit survey to observe, among other things, the trend of change over the 10 years since the first survey. In this fiscal year, our research results include two conference reports, three published papers, and three papers currently submitted and under review. I will briefly explain two of the research results. The first study clarifies how performance management in Japanese firms has been changing and transforming over the last decade: the change in performance management over the 10 years from 2009 to 2019 is not a transformation to capital efficiency or B/S-oriented management, but rather a gradual improvement of the traditional P/L-centered management by strengthening the counting management. The second study suggests that the changes in performance management over the past two years may have been aimed at improving short-term financial performance rather than improving medium- to long-term corporate value. The second study analyzed the changes in cost planning in the Japanese manufacturing industry in recent years over a 10-year period. The results showed that (1) there were no significant changes or transformations in cost planning activities, the effects of cost planning, or the reverse function itself, (2) the relationship between cost planning activities and the effects of cost planning was generally consistent, and (3) the relationship between cost planning activities and the reverse (2) The relationship between cost planning activities and the effect of cost planning was generally consistent, while (3) the relationship between cost planning activities and the reverse function showed differences depending on the year of survey, and (4) the relationship between organizational context and cost planning activities and effect showed significant path differences.
