宇宙最大の爆発現象であるガンマ線バーストを利用して初期宇宙を探査することを目的とした、人工衛星搭載用の広視野X線撮像検出器のプロトタイプモデルを開発した。世界最高レベルの高利得・低雑音のアナログ集積回路を開発し、約１キロ電子ボルトからのX線読み出しを可能とするシステムを完成することができた。使用している回路部品等は、全て放射線耐性試験を実施したもので、衛星軌道上で１０年程度は生存することを確認しているため、本研究成果により迅速にフライトモデルを開発することが可能となった。
We developed a wide field X-ray imaging detector aboard satellite to probe the early universe with gamma-ray burst phenomena known as the biggest explosion in the universe. We developed the world’s highest level of “high-gain and low-noise” analog ASIC (application specific integrated circuit), and we demonstrated readout for X-ray signal above 1 keV. We performed radiation tolerant tests for all peripheral electric parts, and confirmed their tolerances are more than 10 years in satellite orbit. According to these results, we will quickly develop the flight hardware in near future.
