うさぎの脚にあった、創外固定器を製造し、実験モデルを作成した。刺激装置は、これまでの試作品の段階からモーター、振動装置などの改良などを行い、実際ウサギに使用できるものとなった。そこで、研究実施計画に従い、ウサギの脛骨骨折モデルを作成し、術後2週間後に、これらを4群にわけて(1)コントロールモデル群(この後何もしない)。(2)1日30秒を1週間、振動数1Hz、振幅0.5mmで延長、短縮を繰り返す群。(3)1日30秒を1週間、振動を加える群(0-50Hz)。(4)2+3を同時に加える群(subgroupで4群)の各々の刺激を与えた。結果は、group(1)と(3)はあまり変わりなく、どちらも8週で骨癒合が得られ、その過程も変わりはなかった。group(2)は仮説ではgroup(1)と比べると、骨形成が多少促進されるはずであったが、振幅0.5mmが大きかったのか、8週までにfailureするものが多かった。group(4)もgroup(2)と同様、failureが多かった。振幅量の設定をもう少し、小さくする必要があると考えられる。また、実際与えた刺激がどの程度骨折部に伝わっているかの検討も必要である。本実験では、確率共振を与える創外固定器の作成に、初めて成功した点では意義がある。しかし、それを使い骨形成促進まで働かせるには、今後条件設定、創外固定器の細かな改良が必要であると考えられる。
