• 要約等: The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of a combination of physical and exercise therapies on the knee joint in patients with osteoarthritis of the knee. Subjects: We evaluated 14 female patients (21 knees) with osteoarthritis of the knee, who did not have a history of undergoing surgery for the disease. Methods: The bending and extending ranges of motion (ROM) of the knee, quadriceps femoris strength, and walking function (walking rate, walking velocity,stride length, step length, step width, as well as stance and swing times) were measured before and after thermal as well as exercise therapies. Results: The ROM of the knee joint, walking rate, and walking velocity significantly improved along with a significantly shortened stance time after each of thermal and exercise therapies. No significant differences in any measurement items were seen between the therapies. Conclusion: Thermal and exercise therapies each showed immediate effects for the limited ROM and walking function in patients with osteoarthritis of the knee, but the effects of exercise therapy were not greater than those of thermal therapy.; 目的：変形性膝関節症患者を対象に，物理療法と運動療法を併用した時の膝関節に与える影響を検証することを目的とした。対象：手術歴がない変形性膝関節症の女性患者１４名２１膝とした。方法：膝関節屈曲・伸展の可動域測定，大腿四頭筋筋力，歩行分析は，歩行率，歩行速度，ストライド，歩幅，歩隔，立脚と遊脚時間を，温熱療法と運動療法実施前，温熱療法実施後，運動療法実施後にそれぞれの測定を実施した。結果：介入前と比較して温熱後および運動後ともに有意に膝関節可動域が改善し，歩行速度，歩行率が有意に改善を認め，立脚時間が有意に短縮した。温熱後と運動後の比較は，すべての項目に有意差は認められなかった。また，その他の測定項目では，有意差は認められなかった。結語：変形性膝関節症に対する温熱療法と運動療法は，可動域制限と歩行機能に対して，即時的な効果が認められたものの，運動療法は温熱療法を上回る効果は認められなかった。
