並列タイトル等The Role of Nonhierarchical Social Organization Theories in Japanese Grassroots Feminist Movements Negotiating Difference among Women
一般注記The purpose of this study is to analyze the organization theories of feminism movements in Japan, and to reconsider the way to coordinate differences between members of them in relationships between equals. And finally, I would like to rethink the sameness of women. In recent years, many kinds of young feminist movements have risen suddenly in Japan. These are not only individual movements that spreads questions about gender or their opinions on internet media but also real grassroots movements whose purposes is to rethink many social problems about gender. They are held as a new series of social phenomena in general, but many grassroots feminism movements already exist in Japan from 1970s. The beginning of those grassroots movements was “Japanese Women’s liberation movement” [woman’s-lib]. And in the late 1970s, many feminism movements, both large and small, frequently occurred following “woman’s-lib”. These movements had many types of styles, study groups, social action groups, businesses for women and more, and their interests were about many kinds of gender problems and women being themselves. And they were affected by “woman’s-lib” developed before those movements. They were interested in a variety of issues: gender roles, sexuality, working women, relationships between women and men (women and women) and more, and these issues continued to be discussed today. I think the history of “old” Japanese grassroots feminism movements are seen to be of value to “new” feminism movements in Japan. I would like to emphasize that these movements had distinctive systems of organization, and they discussed about equal relationship between different women again and again. Their workings have special meaning for women’s actions in the present day. Because especially in recent years, thinking about differences between women and about women’s sameness is recognized very important problem in Japan. In this paper I evaluate the past Japanese grassroots feminism movements and redefine the history of Japanese feminism movements.
