本研究の目的は、津軽海峡南岸域「下北半島北端」を研究対象に、異なる生業活動の場である開地遺跡と洞穴遺跡を発掘調査し、出土遺物の比較研究をおこなうことで、同時期の北海道から本州島への人類(文化)の流入の在り方を具体的に示すことにある。本年度は、過年度に実施した分布調査により発見された洞穴・岩陰の試掘調査を集中的におこなう予定であったが、新型コロナウイルス感染拡大と調査期間中の荒天の影響により、十分な調査の実施が困難となった。そのため、次年度予定していた周辺地域の洞窟・岩陰遺跡との比較検討を前倒しで実施した。具体的には、富山県氷見市大境洞窟の測量調査と環境調査を実施するとともに、同洞窟出土遺物の実見調査も合わせておこなった。今年度実施が不十分であった下北半島での試掘調査は次年度に実施予定である。
なお今年度調査・研究の一部は、令和4年度青森県埋蔵文化財発掘調査報告会「安部遺跡(尻労安部洞窟)-旧石器時代の洞窟遺跡-」、第36回東北日本の旧石器文化を語る会(北海道大会)「青森県尻労安部洞窟」として口頭発表した。
This study is intended to clarify inflow processes of the palaeolithic culture from Hokkaido to Honshu Island. In this year, we planned to concentrate on test-pit excavation of caves and rock shelters discovered in the distribution survey conducted in the past year. However, due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection and the impact of stormy weather, it was difficult to conduct a sufficient survey. For this reason, we carried out a comparison study with caves and rock shelter sites in the surrounding area ahead of schedule. The specific archaeological site investigated is Osakai Cave in Himi City, Toyama Prefecture. The test-pit survey on the Shimokita Peninsula, which was insufficiently conducted this year, is scheduled to be conducted next year.
