- 2012-2013年度科学研究費助成事業（挑戦的萌芽研究）研究成果報告書 課題番号：24657061 研究代表者：坂巻祥孝（鹿児島大学・農学部・准教授）太平洋から3000km以上も内陸のモンゴル西部の湖において、本来海岸性であるハマハシリバエの生息を発見した。本種は2つの湖で生息が確認されたが、1つは塩水湖であり1つは淡水湖であることから、水の性質は本種の生息に重要な意味を持たないことがわかった。この個体群の由来として、太古の海からの残存か近隣の水域（バイカル湖）からの移入の2つの仮説が立てられた。形態と分子の証拠から、いずれの仮説も可能性が低いと考えられた。本研究とほぼ同時期に黒海とアゾフ海から記載された種が本種に近縁であることが判明し、モンゴルの種は4000kmも離れた黒海周辺から何らかの方法で運ばれた可能性が高いと考えられた。At lakes in Western Mongolia, ca. 3000 km apart from the western coast of the Pacific Ocean, we discovered a small fly species of the genus Cersodromia (Hybotidae), which is a group principally living on sandy sea coasts. This fly was found on the coast of two lakes, one salty and the other fresh, suggesting that the water type is not important for this fly (presence of sandy coast may be more important). Two hypotheses were established to explain the presence of this species in Western Mongolia: 1) the population is a survivor from ancient sea, 2) it migrated from nearby waters like Lake Baikal. Evidence from morphology, DNA and distribution suggests that both hypothesis are not hopeful. Almost at the same time as this project, a new species of Cersodromia was described from Black Sea and Azov Sea, ca. 4000 km a part from Western Mongolia. This new species is very similar in morphology to the Mongolian species, which is considered the descendant of the immigrant from Black Sea area.
