一般注記本実験は微小重力下で溶鉄を複合脱酸し、脱酸生成物の性状を地上で検討し、その生成機構を解析することを目的とする。酸素レベルを変えた純鉄および鉄-10%ニッケル合金と、Al、Si、Mnをベースにした脱酸剤7種類の箔をサンドウィッチ状に組にした12組の試料を、アルミナ、BN、タンタル容器に順次挿入し1本のカプセルとした。試料はLIF挿入後プログラムに従い1555度C到達3min後に通電停止しHe冷却された。宇宙実験は操作上は首尾よく行われたと報告があった。しかし、実験データによると試料温度は予定より約3分速く目標温度に到達しており、この原因について検討中である。1部の試料はボイルしていたが、大部分は顕鏡に耐えれる状態で回収された。宇宙、地上実験試料のSEM、EPMA、EDXによる解析結果から、両者の介在物の形状に差は認められず、溶接ビード部に見られる球状介在物が主体であった。
The object of this experiments is to analyze formation mechanism of deoxidized products of molten iron which was complex-deoxidized under microgravity and after that investigated properties of deoxidized products on the earth. Capsule was made by inserting 12 samples which were sandwiched by combining pure iron with various oxide concentration, Fe-10 percent Ni alloy and seven types of foil of deoxidation agents based on Al, Si and Mn into alumina, BN, and tantalum made containers in turn. After the samples were inserted into Large Isothermal Furnace (LIF) and temperature of samples was rised up to 1550 C, power was shutdown 3 minutes later and samples were cooled with helium. Although it was reported that the experiments in space had been successfully completed in view of experimental procedures, it was observed from the experimental data that temperature of samples reached to target temperature before 3 minutes of scheduled time. Its cause is now being investigated. Some samples were boiled, but majority of samples was recovered maintaining state allowable to microscopy. It was found from results of analysis by SEM, EPMA (Electron Probe MicroAnalysis) and EDX (Energy Dispersive X ray analysis) for experimental samples in space or ground surface that shape of inclusions in both type of samples did not differ and spherical inclusions were mainly observed in weld beads.
