Using the inverse problem formulated into integral equations, a design method based on the residual correction concept has been developed and applied to the aerodynamic design of wings for a Japanese SST experimental model. During the process of the formulation, mathematical difficulties have been encountered in dealing with the improper integrals, that were suffered by singularities. These difficulties have been settled using the extended idea of Hadamard and Cauchy's concepts of integrals.
