一般注記A finite-volume calculation method for the solution of two-dimensional incompres-sible time-averaged Navier-Stokes equation in a general curvilinear coordinate system is presented in this paper. The main calculation algorithm of the method is an extension of SIMPLE algorithm to present the governing equations based on curvilinear co-ordinates, maintaining the Cartesian velocity components as dependent variables. The standard k - epsilon turbulence model is used for closure of the Reynolds equation. This method is applied to calculation of turbulent flows in two-dimensional and axi-symmetrical dump diffusers with uniform and distorted inlet velocity profiles. The results are compared with the data obtained from the present experiments and the other available data. The general flow pattern and velocity distribution are successfully predicted and the results show good agreement with experimental data, especially when using the QUICKER scheme for the convection terms approximation. Pressure loss can also be predicted using the fine grid, but improvement must be achieved in the computational method to be able to predict pressure loss with moderate grid. The treatment of the pressure correction equation in general curvilinear coordinates employed in this work enhances the stability and robustness of calculation.
