一般注記Three-dimensional wake structures past bluff bodies were investigated by solving in-compressible Navier-Stokes equations numerically. The effect of the Reynolds number on the flow around a slender body and of the base slant on the flow past a circular cylinder with a base are discussed in this second report. The flow around an automobile is also computed. In the high-Reynolds-number flow, a pair of vortex tubes observed in the low-Reynolds-number flow is split into several pairs. A pair of vortex tubes parallel to the free stream, which is observed in the flow past a circular cylinder with a slanted base, becomes stable and influences the drag coefficient. It is found that the third-order upwind differencing scheme in the generalized coordinate system used in this paper is also effective in calculating the flow around a bluff body with a rather complicated geometry, such as an automobile.
