一般注記Direct numerical simulation of the transition process from laminar to tubulent plane Poiseuille flow is carried out using a new computing method derived from the Fourier spectral method. The subcritical nonlinear instability for a three-dimensional small disturbance, which is induced by the basic flow plus the two-dimensional finite amplitude T-S wave, is investigated at a Reynolds number, 5000. The two distinct secondary instability mechanisms, the peak-valley splitting and the resonance interaction between T-S wave and a pair of subharmonic oblique waves, are obtained depending on a slight difference being in the initially given three-dimensional small disturbances. The mechanisms correspond to the experimental observation in the boundary layer on a flat plate. The transition is accelerated by the growing three-dimensional disturbances and the turbulent flow obtained agrees well with the experimental observation.
