並列タイトル等The Scattering of Rare Gases from Metallic Surfaces with Adsorbed Layers.
タイトル(掲載誌)航空宇宙技術研究所報告 = Technical Report of National Aerospace Laboratory TR-723
一般注記The scattering of molecular beams of rare geses(neon, argon and kripton) from metallic surfaces(nickel, platinum and silver) was measured in the range of incident energies from 0.06 to 4.0 eV.No effort was made to remove the surface contaminations and, therefore, these surfaces were thought to be coverd with adsorbed gas molecules. In the case of nickel plane, measured distributions varied from diffuse(cosine) to lobular patterns when the incident energies were raised from thermal to intermediate range. From the abrupt change of maximum intensity and also from the decreasing of the total width at half height obtained from the out-of plane measurements, this transition of distribution pattern seemed to occur in the range of energies between 0.6 and 1.0 eV. This value was slightly different for different gases; lighter gas seemed to have a smaller value. Similar results were obtained for platinum plane. Lobular patterns were observed even in the thermal range of incident energies in the case of silver plane.
