一般注記In this paper, numerical calculations are made of the unsteady transonic potential flow over three-dimensional wings with oscillating control surfaces. For this purpose, a new grid system, which is appropriate for solving the control surface problems, is introduced into the computer code USTF3, which solves the unsteady 3D full potential equation by a time-marching semi-implicit and implicit two-sweep finite difference procedure. To validate the code, the unsteady pressure distributions are calculated on both the NLR Swept Tapered Wing with an inboard control surface and on the RAE Swept Tapered Wing with a part-span control surface. The results are compared with existing theories and experimental data. The potential power of USTF3 as a numerical simulator for the time-domain simulation of a flutter suppression system is also demonstrated by calculating the time dependent aeroelastic responses of the NASA Supercritical Wing flutter model with a part-span control surface.
