一般注記The objective of this study is to evaluate the static and fatigue properties of thin sheets of 8090-T8 aluminum-lithium alloy, which was developed for aircraft structures. Systematical tests of this material and conventional 2024-T4 and 7075-T6 aluminum alloys were conducted. Static tests provided data on mechanical properties such as tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and Young’s modulus. Hardness tests gave data on Vickers hardness. Fatigue tests yielded data on S-N relationship of circular hole notched specimens, crack growth behavior, and fatigue crack growth rates as a function of strees intensity factor range. The fracture surfaces formed by static and fatigue tests were observed by a SEM. The obtained results are analyzed and compared with each other. The various distinctive properties of this material are clarified in comparison with those of the conventional aluminum alloys.
