Past Distructive Earthquakes in Japan happened in Unusual Meteorological Phenomena
タイトル(掲載誌)愛知工業大学研究報告. B, 専門関係論文集 = Bulletin of Aichi Institute of Technology. Part B
一般注記Distructive earthquakes in the past in Japan, which happened in unusual phenomena such as heavy rain, strong wind, storm and snow, amounted to thirty five examples. Among these examples eight earthquakes were related to a heavy rain; eight earthquakes were associated with a strong wind; thirteen earthquakes were connected with a storm; six earthquakes were in the snowy season. Various disasters by these earthquake examples were found from both earthquake occurrences and meteorological events. Especially though tsunami disasters of the great earthquakes in 1948,1611,and 1677 having an earthquake magnitude greater than 8 had been thought to be due to an earthquake cause alone, these disasters were considered to be the duplication of these from an unusual meteorological event. The cause of the 1835 tsunami might be a water calamity of the meteorological event. As shown by the describing earthquake examples in this paper, the damage by a distructive earthquake had been duplicated by that from an unusual meteorological phenomenon, so that it would be important to investigate the earthquake damage in detail for earthquake countermeasures.
