• 一般注記: 『質問本草』は一般的には呉継志の著とされる。しかし、尚穆・尚温王代の御典医・島袋憲紀(舌瘡の治療法で有名な島袋憲亮(唐名：晏孟徳)の養子)ではないかとする説と実在しない架空の人物であるとする説に分かれている。第一巻には中国の医者・本草家(薬用の植物)の名が列挙されており、本書は彼らとのやり取りのなかで得た知識を収集しまとめたものである。収録された草木は160種類にのぼり、内篇は内治に外篇は外治に効果があるもので分類されている。写実性の高い絵と共に説明が付され薬種・薬学の研究にとってはなくてはならない一冊である。天明5年写本(島津重豪に献上された)と天保8年版本(島津斉彬が刊行)があり、本書は天保8年本である。; Shitsumon Honzo was believed to be written by Go Keishi, or Shimabukuro Kenki who had served for King Sho-boku and Sho-on as a court physician or some say that this person Go Keishi didn't exist. In the first volume, the names of the doctors and herbalists are listed, knowledge and information obtained by the interactions with Chinese doctors and herbalists are compiled. 160 kinds of plants are recorded, "naihen "version is of internal medicine, and "gaihen"version is of surgical treatment. With realistic drawing of of plants and captions, it is an indispensable material for the study of herbal medicine. Published in 1837.
