一般注記"Subject index of the books first published or re-issued between January, 1881, and December, 1900, which have been added to the library...It has been formed by incorporating the three subject indexes published...in 1886, 1891 and 1897, and by adding to them the titles of books issued during 1896 to 1900, as well as those of the Slavonic, Hungarian, and Finnish books published between 1881 and 1900, which were not included in the former indexes."
