- In this thesis, I propose the video coding control and video stream joining scheme, which realize that the any client terminal including mobile device allow to efficiently access to high-definition video. Efficient access means that the user can access to multi-vision video at same time and access to free-view area which is requested by client. In general, to realize multi-vision video access and free-view area access have many issues, which are high-processing load for server, simultaneously access limitation, and so on. Therefore in the special circumstances like realization in LAN network or single client-to-single server implementation, free-view area access is realized. In this thesis, the general circumstances are considered as opposed to special circumstances, I propose the free-view area access scheme based on the tile-based encoding control and the stream join scheme. In detail, the tile-based encoding split original high-definition video to small area with a certain size (called “Tile”) and encodes each tile preliminary. Then, when the server received playback request, the server join (combine) pre-encoded tile according to user requested area and transmits joined stream as single stream. Since this scheme can avoid the real-time encoding, the server can cover a lot of user access simultaneously. This thesis evaluates these schemes. First chapter describes research background and the motivation of tiled-encoding and tile stream joining scheme. Second chapter shows the mechanisms and the overall flow for proposal scheme. Then I prove that the proposal schemes have the feasibility for free-view area access. In third chapter, I focus the H.264/AVC as encoding and joining codec, propose the basic encoding control and joining scheme, and evaluate basic proposal performance. Then I indicate the variable length decoding of H.264/AVC requires most high-processing loads in joining phase and propose the high-speed variable length decoding scheme in fourth chapter. Meanwhile, in fifth chapter, I focus the elimination of variable length decoding and re-encoding process for more high-performance stream joining. Then I propose the prediction encoding control on tile stream frame boundary in tile stream encoding phase. Additionally, in order to eliminate bit-shift operation since byte-based MB-line copy is ideal, MB byte-alignment scheme is proposed in this chapter. But the encoding restriction scheme causes image distortion because this scheme requires the fixed encoding parameter forcibly. Therefore the sixth chapter describes the degradation mechanism and proposes the error responsible for image degradation reduction scheme.2013
