池ヶ原（現津山市池ヶ原）の大岡熊次郎忠成（１８４２〜１９２０）が、江戸初期から明治１１年（１８７８）頃までの、現岡山県勝田郡内の町村の沿革を記したもの。訂正や加筆箇所も多く、草稿本と思われる。江戸時代の勝南（しょうなん）郡・勝北（しょうぼく）郡の村々を所領とする大名・旗本とその時代、勝間田（かつまだ）町の沿革、勝田郡内１４郷に含まれる村名、明治維新以後の北条県の設置、行政区の設置、会所・会議所・区務所・戸長役場の設置状況などを記す。巻末には「美作紀抜書」が収録されている。（文責：岡山県立図書館）
