Note (General): 本研究会では、地域満足（住んでよし）と受入意識（訪れてよし）を同時に充足できるような地域政策について提言することを目的とした。そこで、地域満足　→　受入意識　→　観光地としての成功という仮説にもとづき、地域満足に関するどのような項目が地域外から来訪する他者受け入れの意識に影響を与えるかについて質問票調査を行った。調査地域は、和歌山市、白浜地域、湯浅町の3地域とし、当該地域に居住する住民にランダムに質問紙を配布した。質問紙は 2000部配布され、回収は508(25.4%)であった。調査の結果、地域に対する愛情や全人格的な思い（愛情・全人格的コミットメント）が受け入れ意識に最も影響与えることが明らかとなった。特に愛情・全人格的コミットメントに強い影響を与えるのは、地域のコミュニティが有効に機能しているかどうかであった。すなわち、地域のコミュニティをうまく機能させることが、地域に対するコミットメントを高め、ひいては地域満足にも受入意識にも大きな影響を与えるということが客観的に示された。地域のコミュニティを有効に機能させ、住民共通の価値観を形成し浸透させ得る具体的な政策を検討・実施していく必要性がこの調査から見出されたのである。
