研究概要：塑性加工によって、軽金属等の結晶粒を微細化し強度特性を改善する手法について検討した。本研究手法は、材料をねじり押出すことに大きな特徴があり、特にねじり変形によって加工ひずみに差が生じることに起因して、内部と表面層で異なる性質の素材が形成される。ねじり押出し加工した場合、表面層と内部で硬さの異なる材料が作製され、特にアルミニウムにおいては、静的強度特性および疲労強度特性が共に改善されることがわかった。
