研究概要：小学生10名および中学生10名を対象にして，学校用家具使用時の３次元動作分析を行った。被験者の身長から割り出した適正な机・椅子の高さを基準とし，その高さから１号だけ高い高さと，１号だけ低い高さの机・椅子を使用し，この３段階に高さを変えて実験を行った。文字を書くという着座時の動作，着座姿勢から直立姿勢への立ち上がり動作および机を持ち運ぶ動作を被験者に行ってもらい，２台のCCDカメラによる３次元動作の計測を行った。この実験の結果，机・椅子の高さが低いほど腰の角度が小さい値を示し前かがみの姿勢になる傾向を示した。小学生では１号だけ低いときに身体の各部位の疲労度が全体的に高くなり，中学生でも１号だけ低いときに腰と足を中心に疲労を強く訴えた。また，小学生と中学生は，１号だけ高い高さの机・椅子をちょうどよい高さと認識していることがわかった。
