研究概要：スピン・パイエルス物質で観測されている「不純物誘起反強磁性長距離秩序」のメカニズムを調べた。量子力学的に非磁性な系をボンド希釈すると、ダイマーが壊れ、抜いたボンドの両端に有効スピンが誘起する。それらの有効スピン間には二種類の有効相互作用が競合して存在し、それらの相互作用の強さが同等になるまで反強磁性長距離秩序が誘起されないことを明らかにした。さらに、格子の自由度を考慮した系では、格子エネルギーの利得のため格子歪みの最適化がなされ、有効スピンが不純物近傍に誘起される場合と不純物間中央に誘起される場合があることを明らかにした。
