日中関係は、尖閣諸島の国有化以降、深刻な政治対立や経済の冷え込みが問題とされている。一方で、両国の市民間ではメディアや文化、アートを介した活発な交流が行われてきた。政治や経済レベルでの緊張が高まる現在において、メディアや文化、アートを介した市民レベルの交流は、きわめて貴重である。本研究では、中国（北京）でそのような日本と中国の市民間レベルの交流に尽力する女性を対象にインタビュー調査を行った。そのうち、今年度の成果としては、特に、新潟県で実施されている「大地の芸術祭」関連のアートプロジェクト「中国ハウス」の運営者を対象に実施した調査結果を論文にまとめて発表した。論文では、「中国ハウス」プロジェクトを通して、日本と中国、都市と地方、子どもや若者と高齢者といった固有の文化や立場を乗り越えた交流が日常的に行われていることを明らかにしている。
