ICT技術の利活用がますます進み、種々の利便性が向上すると同時に、セキュリティも含め、従来にない多様な利用・接続形態に起因するリスクが増加しており、その対処のための方法論について研究を行った。個別の技術だけに注目すると、俯瞰的な問題が見えず、適切なリスクの評価が困難となる。システム理論に基づくアプローチをベースに様々な利害関係者による俯瞰的な分析も容易で、なおかつプロジェクトの具体化に応じて、それぞれの領域の専門家が厳密な分析を行うことが可能な、リスクの分析と低減方法の確立を目指し研究を行った。他学科や他大学の研究者と共同でセキュリティの問題や教育プロジェクトの課題に取り組み対外発表などの成果を上げた。
