急速に情報化が進展し続けるわが国の保健医療福祉分野では、各専門職が情報リテラシーおよび情報倫理を備えることが必要である。しかし、「医療情報」とならび学問として教授の必要性のある「看護情報」の授業内容の大半がofficeソフトの操作に関することであり、社会の情報化の流れに対して教育内容が遅れている。そこで、本研究では、エレクティブ的位置づけにある「看護情報学」について全国の看護系大学の授業内容の分析を行い、授業データの到達目標を基に作成した看護情報能力尺度を用い、看護学生に調査を行った。結果、個人情報の保護やコンピューターの基礎的スキルについては獲得しているものの、情報セキュリティや情報システムに関することについては、低い値となった。また、学年間の差が顕著に表れたことから、学年ごとのコンピテンシーを作成しカリキュラムへ反映する必要性が示唆された。
