元気な高齢者が住民主体型活動の担い手となれば、更なる介護予防と地域の見守り体制につながる。自治体は地域包括ケアシステム構築のため、ボランティア養成や住民の活動の立ち上げ支援を行いながら住民主体型活動へ移行させてきた。本研究は、住民主体型活動を行っている高齢者の活動への意識や活動過程を明らかとし、活動が活性化する要件を検討することを目的とした。住民主体型活動を行っている高齢代表者9名を対象に半構造化面接調査を行い、質的に内容を分析した。活動過程で参加者やスタッフの減少、活動内容、活動計画・報告書作成に困難を感じるが、自治体や地域包括支援センターの支援によって活動を継続し、活動への喜びや励み、使命感、継続意思を持っていた。活動の活性化のためには、自治体や地域包括支援センターのボランティアやサポーター養成講座開催によるスタッフの育成支援、活動内容の情報提供や情報交換の機会を提供することが必要である。また、参加者やスタッフの心身機能に合わせた活動内容とすることが重要である。
