本研究は13C-sodium acetateを用いて固形食と飲料の混合摂取が胃内容排出速度に与える影響、連続して得られる呼気の13CO2濃度の変化から13CO2/12CO2のピーク到達時間を評価する方法、体幹の生体電気抵抗値の変化から胃内容排出速度（Tmax）の推定が可能かを検討することを目的とした。その結果、混合摂取ではTmaxが早まる、つまり試験中の飲料摂取が胃内容排出速度を早めることを示した。また連続した呼気ガスデータからのTmaxの評価方法として、5分毎の平均値を一次微分して従属変数が最初にマイナスになったプロットと、ひとつ前のプロットで一次回帰式を求め、Y=0の際のXの値をTmaxとする方法の提案をした。また生体電気抵抗値による胃内容排出の評価については体幹部の抵抗値に有意な変化を認めたことから、部位別・周波数別により細かく測定をすることで、より非侵襲的な方法の提案に繋がる可能性がある。
