本研究は，青年期の大学生を対象にバックパックなどの携行物の保持時と非保持時での足部状況を浮き趾の趾数，母趾角度，接地面積で測定することで，身体的な負荷としてどのような影響があるのかを明らかにすることを目的とした．研究デザインは，観察的横断研究で行い，対象者には質問紙法を行い，足部はフットルック社のフットルック®を用いて調査した．調査期間は，令和3年10月14日～10月29日であった．その結果，対象者248名中85名を対象とした．対象者の平均年齢19.9歳（SD1.3歳），性別は，女性78名（91.8％），男性7名（8.2％），体格は平均のBMI20.5（SD2.5）であった．普段の履物は，スニーカー69名（81.2％）と最も多く，携行物は，バックパックが62名（65.3％），トートバックは31名（32.6％）の順であった．携行物の重量は，平均5.12㎏（SD1.91㎏）で最大値10.6㎏，最小値1.4㎏であった．右足は，携行物の非保持の時が保持している時よりも浮き趾が多く，左足では携行物の影響はなかった．したがって，携行物の保持時と非保持時による足部状況の変化は，右足でのみに保持している時よりも保持していない時の方が浮き趾が多い傾向であったが，母趾角度，接地面積には変化はみられなかった．
