農家自身が部品の購入、組立、設置、運用が可能な圃場設置用カメラ装置の開発をおこなった。さらに、農家のトマトハウスに設置し検証実験を行い、有用であるという意見をもらった。カメラ装置は、マイコンボード（Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+）、モバイルルータ、USBカメラ（２台）、ACアダプタ、防水ケースからなり、はんだ付け等の作業は不要で、ネジ留めや穴あけなどだけで組み立てることができる。また、プログラミングは不要で、ネット上に用意したイメージファイルをSDカードにコピーし、Googleフォーム必要事項を書き込むことで各種の設定ができるようになっている。撮影したい場所に装置本体とUSBカメラを固定し、100VのAC電源に繋ぐだけで設置は完了する。撮影された画像は、モバイルルータ経由でインターネット上のストレージサービスに保存されるため、PCやスマートフォンでいつでも画像を見ることができる。これにより、農家やその関係者の間での情報共有が容易になる。このように農家自身が装置を組立、設置、運用できることにより、これまでブラックボックスとして使うことしかできなかったスマート農業システムに対して、身近なものとして興味を持つきっかけになると考えている。
