Note (General): In this paper we describe experimental results from irradiation of sliced animal tissue and anesthetizes rats using the Gyrotron FU IV as a source of microwave radiation. The irradiation system includes a tapered waveguide coupled to a circular waveguide with diameter 28 mm, catheter waveguide with diameter 5 mm as well as a horn or rod antenna. The possibility to use thermal effects for evalution of the output power of the gyrotron is discussed.
