Note (General): The well-known fingerprint regions of many materials are located in mid-infrared region. In the same way,far-infrared (terahertz) region is also one of the fingerprint regions. In this report,the monochromatized imaging of the frozen sectioning tissue of transplanted experimental brain tumor on mouse at specified terahertz regions using improved time domain spectrometer have been carried out to demonstrare the possibility of distinguishing cancer from normal tissues. The results,especially the phase difference imaging at 52 cm^-1 show the good contrast not only between the brain tumor and the normal tissued,but also between the vital tumor and the necrotic tumor. However,since the similar preliminary measurement for other cancer does not make the contrast with normal tissues,the origin of the contrast at 52 cm^-1 is probably due to the characteristic absorption of the brain tumor tissue.
