Note (General): This work presents evidence of phase velocity dependence on metal surface roughness for terahertz (THz) waves propagating in a parallel plate metal waveguide having a sub-wavelength gap. This suggests possible way to control the phase velocity and the propagation direction of guided THz waves by varying the surface roughness of the parallel plates.
