Note (General): イオンチャネル蛋白質が備える高いイオン透過効率とイオン選択性はどのように実現されているのか?このイオンチャネル研究の長年の課題に対し、本研究では新しい実験的アプローチを行った。イオンチャネル内をイオンに付随して水分子も同時に透過する現象に着目し、この際のイオンと水の透過比率を、流動電位と呼ばれる電気化学パラメータの測定を行い解析した。イオン-水透過比は、イオンチャネル結晶構造中に見られるイオンや水の分布よりも、実際の透過現象を多く反映した情報を提供する。従って、透過比の系統的な解析を行うことで生理的条件におけるイオン透過様式の検討が可能となる。本研究では新しい流動電位測定系を確立し、実際にカリウムチャネルにおけるイオン-水透過比を明らかにした。
