Note (General): 本研究では、福井市周縁部における郊外住宅地の開発実態と持続可能な居住に向けた展開可能性の考察を行なった。住宅地開発は1990 年代後半以降活発化し、小規模化の傾向にあり、土地所有者の高齢化などにより、田園部の開発が進んでいる実態が明らかになった。しかしその一方で開発から数十年を経たいくつかの住宅地では、区画統合など空区画の複数利用によって、住宅の増改築や建替、菜園づくり、親子近居などを実現しており、本研究ではこれら複数区画利用の現象が起こる背景や要因について、重点的に考察を行なった。これらの考察結果を通して、空き区画による複数区画利用は、居住者の多様な重要求に対し柔軟に対応する重要な役割を担うと共に、既に開発された郊外住宅地における持続可能な居住に向けた再構築へのモデルになると考えられる。
