Note (General): 本研究の目的は、移動しやすい環境を手に入れたいという動機以外の動機（以下、移動目的外保有動機）によって自動車を保有している人がどの程度存在するのかを把握するとともに、その特徴を明らかにすることである。分析の結果、以下が明らかとなった。第一に、移動目的外保有動機の重要度は、23.3%であった。第二に、移動目的外保有動機によって自動車を保有している層は、12.8%であり、趣味性を重視している層が7.9%、無意識に保有している層が4.9%であった。第三に、移動目的外保有動機に影響を与える要因は、「自動車に趣味性を持っている」では、子供がいない世帯の男性や専業主婦、「他者からの目が気になる」では、子供がいる世帯の専業主婦や世帯年収が低い人、「特に理由を考えず無意識に」では、一人暮らしの人や女性などであった。
