Note (General): 本稿では初年次留学生を対象にした日本語科目で、帰納的な語彙学習を目指した実践について報告する。本実践は教師主導の日本語の授業に慣れてしまった受動的な態度の学生を主体的な学習へと転換させる試みでもある。この授業ではコーパスを利用してコロケーションを調べるというデータ駆動型学習により、学生自身がその語彙の用法を帰納的に発見し学習する。それを整理して発表したり、理解した語彙を用いて作文を書いたりする。こうして大学での学修に必要な語彙を習得するとともに、辞書的意味の理解だけが語彙学習ではないことも理解する。また、コーパスを検索したり、Wordの機能を駆使して発表用資料を仕上げるという情報通信技術（ICT）の活用は留学生にとって「新しい学習方法」であり、学習意欲を高めることに寄与したと思われる。最後にこの実践を通して初年次教育としての日本語教育の目指すべき方向性について考察した。
This study reports the practice of inductive vocabulary learning in a Japanese class for first-year international students. This class attempts to turn passive learners who have become used to taking teacher-led Japanese language classes to active learners. In this class, students learn how words are used inductively through data-driven learning whereby they identify collocations from corpus data. They then organize their findings for presentation and write an essay using the words they learn. Thus, they acquire the vocabularies necessary for an undergraduate course and also understand that vocabulary learning entails more than knowing the dictionary meaning of words. Furthermore, the use of Information and Communication Technology, such as combing through corpus data and preparing presentation materials using Microsoft Word functions, is a new way for students to learn, and seems to have increased their motivation to learn. Lastly, the study discusses the desired direction of first-year Japanese language education based on this practice.
