本学の特長である文化芸術マネジメント、デザイン学部のアートとサイエンス(技術と感性)の結び付いたメディアアートを、将来に向けたSUACの重要な柱の一つとして追求していく。具体的には、文化/芸術/デザインの交流領域である「メディアアート」を軸にして、過去の学長特別研究「メディアアートフェスティバル」等の成果を受けて、教員自身が作家として新作を発表する「メディアアート2006」を開催するとともに、新しく技術造形学科から「メディア造形学科」となったことをPRするために、2度のオープンキャンパスでの学科紹介・作品発表を重点的に支援する。
