本研究の目的は、中学修了生の英文法の習熟度を調査し、第一に、なぜそのような難易を示すのか、言語理論、第二言語習得研究からの成果を基に説明すること、第二に、明らかにされた各英文法の難易度が、どのような外的要因によって影響を受けているのか、または受けていないのかを明らかにすることであった。具体的には、項構造、主語の把握、進行形-ing、不規則過去、規則過去-ed、三単現-s、否定文、Wh疑問文の項目の調査を行った。The present study investigated the L2 acquisition of English grammar by Japanese learners above junior high school. We also tried to provide theoretical explanations as to why L2 learners have difficulties acquiring certain grammatical items, and pursued what kind of external factors affect them. Specifically, we examined the following grammar items: argument structures, subjects, progressive -ing, irregular past, regular past, 3rd singular -s, negation, and wh-questions.
