生命保険会社は短期から超長期までの異なる満期と予定利率から構成される複雑な期間構造の債務を抱えている一方、短期から超長期までの概ね全満期に亘る国債を中心に投資している為、これらの債務・資産の時価を変動させる将来のイールド・カーブの変動を織り込んだ最適長期投資は従来の難問である。加えて、世界金融危機を契機に将来の諸事象の確率分布自体が不明な「ナイトの不確実性」下で「最悪確率」を想定した投資の頑健最適化の必要性が高まっている。楠田(2013) はナイトの不確実性下「相似拡大的頑健効用」（Maenhout (2004)）を所持する生命保険会社が生命保険を株式指数と全満期の国債で頑健運用する生保頑健運用モデルを提案している。しかし同モデルでは、証券価格がリスクの市場価格一定の「完備アフィン・モデル」に従うと仮定されている為、現実の証券価格の変動を的確に捉え難いという難点がある。最近になって、リスクの市場価格が状態変数のアフィン関数に一般化された「本質的アフィン・モデル」の下で消費と証券投資の多期間最適化問題に対し楠田・菊池（2014）は近似解析解を与えている。本稿では、生命保険を特殊な「証券」に見立て、生命保険会社の生命保険債務を「生命保険証券」の空売り投資と見做し、生命保険会社のポートフォリオに組み込むという新たな接近法によって、楠田（2013）、楠田・菊池（2014）の消費と証券投資の頑健最適化モデルの枠組みの中で生保頑健運用モデルを構築する。
