- 本研究は、現代日本語における「鬼のように」という副詞句がどのように意味の漂白化を経て、強意の意味を持つようになっているかを明らかにすることを目的としている。「鬼のように」という表現は、もともと鬼の特性を象徴する様態を表すものとして使用されてきたが、近年では「とても」や「非常に」といった強意の意味を表す副詞句として使用されることが増えている。本研究では、まずコーパスデータを用いて、「鬼のように」がどのような形容詞や動詞を修飾する傾向にあるかを調査した。その結果、「鬼のように」は特に動詞を修飾する際に使用される頻度が高く、形容詞を修飾する場合には特定の語彙に限定される傾向が見られることが明らかとなった。また、日本語母語話者46名を対象に容認度調査を行い、「鬼のように」が自然に受け入れられる条件について分析を行った。調査の結果、鬼の象徴性に関連する形容詞や動詞に対しては高い容認度が示される一方で、象徴性と無関係な場合には容認度が低下する傾向が確認された。これにより、「鬼のように」は強意副詞として機能しつつも、象徴的な意味が依然として影響を与えていることが示された。以上の結果は、日本語における副詞句の意味変化や文法化のプロセスを理解する上で、貴重な知見を提供するものであり、今後の関連研究にも重要な示唆を与えるものである。This study examines the process of semantic bleaching in the adverbial phrase “oni-no yoo-ni.” It is well known that certain grammatical items undergo grammaticalization, which involves semantic bleaching, phonetic erosion, and morphological reduction. Through a corpus-based survey, this study investigated whether the adverbial phrase “oni-no yoo-ni” is experiencing semantic bleaching. The results indicate that “oni-no yoo-ni” has indeed been undergoing a process of semantic bleaching. These findings contribute to ongoing discussions on grammaticalization and its applications to related fields.
