(1)鋼桁を鉄筋コンクリート橋脚に剛結する形式の複合構造の力学挙動を解析する有限要素プログラムを開発した。このプログラムは、コンクリートの構成則として、ひずみ軟化を考慮し、等方性材料として破壊基準をモールクーロン則、混合硬化としてもので、コンクリートと鉄筋の付着およびコンクリートと鋼板の付着をより厳密に取り扱うために、既往のモデルをもとに開発した、付着特性をバネで表現する付着要素を組み込んだものである。特に、コンクリートと鋼板の付着要素は、すべりおよび剥離を考慮できるようにした。このプログラムは、対象とした複合構造以外にも用いることができる。(2)開発した有限要素プログラムによる解析結果と載荷実験の結果と対比した結果、このプログラムによれば、大変形領域まで精度よく力学挙動を追跡できることが示された。(3)開発した有限要素プログラムを用い、実橋の挙動解析を重ねた結果、接合に特別の工夫をしない限り、上部構造からの荷重の大部分は接合部近傍に伝達され、横方向には分散しないことが明らかとなった。また、横桁にダイヤフラムを設け、そのダイヤフラムにフランジを付ければ、荷重は横方向へ効果的に分散伝達されることも明らかとなった。(4)解析結果を基に、より簡便に接合部の力学挙動を解明し、設計に結びつけることができるストラット・タイモデルを開発した。
