本研究の目的は,自動車運転者の経路選択メカニズムを解明し,それを短期的・ミクロ的な交通量推定のためのシミュレ-ションモデルに組み入れことである. その手段として自動車運転実験者の視覚情報処理と認知の関係に着目し,長期間における繰り返し実験を行った.視覚情報の取得としては「アイマ-クレコ-ダ -」と呼ばれる注視点情報をVTR上に記録出来る装置を使用した.また,実験には運転者の認知レベルを測定する「認知地図」の作成,プルトコル法による被験者の心理状態の抽出も同時に行った.実験期間を約3ヶ月とした長期間の走行実験の結果,まず自動車運転者の運転中の注視点情報に関する基本的な情報分析を行った.さらに経路選択・発見と経経路による注視点情報の関連に着目し,特にランドマ-クと言われ走行中に目標物となりえるモノについての注視点情報と運転経験との関連性を分析することがてさた.また,運転者の経路認知といった視点から交差点における各方向の道路認知に関する実験を行い,非集計モデルによる交差点における道路認知モデルと経路変更モデルを作成した.ここでは,近年増加している車載ナビゲ-ションシステムを搭載した走行実験を行い,VICSによるリアルタイム道路交通情報の有無による変化も分析した.さらに,このような認知モデル・経路変更モデルを配分交通量シミュレ-ション上への組み込みを検討した.
