Note (General)
type:80 大阪経大学会「Working Paper」
This study aims to determine the causes of wage fluctuations during Japan’s rule over the Korean peninsula. Arguably, developing countries’ labor market can be described well by using the economic model pioneered by A. W. Lewis, which assumes fixed real wage because of unlimited labor supply from the rural sector. In this model, real wage is fixed. We applied Structural Vector Auto Regressive (SVAR) model of the manufacturing industries’ nominal value added and both skilled and unskilled worker’s nominal wage. According to the results of cumulative impulse response function, the shock of nominal value added in the manufacturing industry positively influences its value as well as both skilled and unskilled wage. We obtained these results for both short- and long-run restrictions.
