Note (General): 本稿では、現在志向でソフィスティケイトな個人が、消費を抑制し貯蓄を促すためのコミットメント手段として年金・生命保険・不動産を保有しているか検証することを目的とする。本稿において重要なポイントはソフィスティケイトとナイーブを区別している点である。現在志向とコミットメントに関するこれまでの実証研究では、現在志向か否かの区分はしているものの、ソフィスティケイトとナイーブの区分はされていない。したがって本稿はソフィスティケイトとナイーブを区分している点が先行研究とは大きく異なる。使用するデータは、大阪大学が実施した「暮らしの好みと満足度に関するアンケート(2009年実施)」である。アンケートの質問項目から、現在志向な個人の特定、ソフィスティケイトな個人とナイーブな個人の区別を行う。分析の結果、現在志向かつソフィスティケイトな個人は、その他の個人に比べ、不動産・年金・生命保険を保有している確率が高いということがわかった。
